Bill on Tax Incentive for Investments related to LGPD Conformity is in progress in the Brazilian Congress

Bill No. 4 of 2022, proposed by Senator Izalci Lucas (PSDB/DF), was accepted by the Brazilian Federal Senate and will go through discussions in both houses of the National Congress and if approved for sanction or veto by the President of the Republic.

 

Bill No. 4/2022 proposes tax benefits by means of discounts of credits related to investments made for the compliance and implementation of the Brazilian General Data Protection Law, Federal Law No. 13,709, of August 14, 2018 (LGPD), the tax base of: (i) Contribution to the Social Integration Program (PIS) and Public Servants&39; Fund Financing Program (PASEP); (ii) Contribution to the Social Security System Financing (COFINS); (iii) Contribution to the Social Integration Program and the Public Servants&39; Fund Financing Program on the Importation of Foreign Goods or Services (PIS/PASEP-Import); and (iv) Social Contribution for Social Security System Financing on Foreign Goods or Services (COFINS-Import).
