Our Infrastructure & Energy team is a multidisciplinary group of lawyers, collaborating with several different practice areas within the firm. The area also includes project finance, a sector in which the firm has much experience. Our lawyers are fully prepared to provide legal services in several infrastructure sectors, including projects arising from the investment plans currently coordinated by the Federal Government, such as the New PAC (Growth Acceleration Program) and the Logistics Investment Program (PIL).
We deal with all types of agents in the electric power sector in a wide range of transactions, involving energy generation, transmission, distribution, trading, and consumption. Our work comprises M&A transactions, greenfield project development, financing, regulatory matters, representation of clients in administrative and judicial discussions and general legal assistance involving the sector. A major highlight of our experience is in the field of renewable energy, especially wind power, solar power, biomass, and biomethane.
Our professionals also assist in the development of projects with several Brazilian public authorities at all federal levels, from project modeling, advising on bidding processes, structuring of privatization processes of state-owned companies and infrastructure, as well as modeling and managing common concession and public-private partnership agreements. In addition, we have significant experience interfacing on a range of matters with regulatory agencies and oversight bodies such as the Auditors’ Courts at federal and state level.
TozziniFreire has also worked on highly complex projects and on developing innovative structures that have become a standard in the Brazilian legal market. Our teams participated actively in the first privatization operations in Brazil in the 90s, as well as in a range of federal and statewide concession programs in several infrastructure areas. Since then, we have been assisting some of the most significant transactions in the areas of transport and logistics (airports, ports, roads, and railways), energy, oil and gas, water and sewage, and telecommunications, among others.
Our Infrastructure & Energy practice area is recommended by Chambers Global and Chambers Brazil in several editions of publications.
