TozziniFreire has privatizations in its DNA. With a historic contribution to Brazil and to our clients, we have participated in the most relevant privatizations of the last decades.
As the first law firm in the country to advise the Brazilian Federal Government on the wave of privatizations of the 1990s, we assisted the BNDES (The Brazilian Development Bank) in structuring legal framework for privatizations. We also advised several state governments in connection with several public tenders.
Our Privatizations practice group is composed by a multidisciplinary team of professionals with experience in several areas (Administrative Law, Infrastructure, Energy, Oil and Gas, Private Equity, M&A, Tax, among others), who are recommended by the most relevant legal guides and rankings.
We are strategically positioned to represent investors seeking legal advice in order to successfully participate in privatization rounds carried out by the Brazilian Government. Our work includes advising on the development of legal structures that are suitable for each type of investor to participate in privatization processes, project financing, regulatory aspects related to such processes, asset due diligence, management and participation of investors in the respective bidding procedures, formation of consortiums composed of more than one interested party, definition of strategies and partnerships that enable participation by Private Equity funds, among other services.
