New review on countervailing duty applied to exports from India to Brazil of grinding bodies in cast iron and/or chrome alloy steel has been launched

April 03, 2024

SECEX Circular No. 13/2024 has launched a countervailing duty review of Brazilian imports of grinding bodies in cast iron and/or chrome alloy steel, with a chrome percentage of 17.6 to 22 and a diameter of 57 to 64 mm, a chrome percentage of 22 to 28 and a diameter of 11 to 28 mm, and a chrome percentage of 28 to 32 and a diameter of 22 to 35 mm, commonly classified under the NCM code 7325.91.00, from India.

The grinding bodies are mainly used for grinding ores. They are placed in mills, which, when activated, move the grinding bodies. These, in turn, reduce the size of the ores by impact, shear, and abrasion, preparing them for the subsequent stages of processing.

The review petitioner is the company Magotteaux.

The analysis of the probability of continuation or resumption of actionable subsidies considered the period from April 2022 to March 2023, while the analysis of continuation or resumption of damage considered the period from April 2018 to March 2023.

Interested parties will be able to cooperate with the investigation by providing data to fill in the Exporter, Importer, or other National Producer Questionnaires, to defend their interests, and to benefit from any individual margin, which is normally lower than the margin calculated based on the information available.
