Brazil incorporates extensions of term for the validity of some specificities of the Mercosur Origin Regime

Decree No. 11,897, of January 23, 2024, incorporates into the Brazilian legal system extensions of term for the validity of some specificities existing in the Mercosur Origin Regime, in accordance with Decision No. 13/21 of the Common Market Council.

 

The differentiated treatment given to Paraguay was extended to December 31, 2032, as long as the CIF port of destination or CIF maritime port value of inputs from third countries does not exceed 60% of the FOB value of products imported from third countries that enter the territory of Paraguay.

 

In the case of Uruguay, a percentage for application of the differentiated regime cannot exceed 50% until December 31, 2026, and 45% from January 1, 2027. In the case of Argentina, this percentage cannot exceed 50% until December 31, 2026, and 45% from January 1, 2027, only for its exports to Uruguay.
