On March 28, Circular SECEX No. 10/2023 initiated the sunset review of the anti-dumping duty imposed by CAMEX Resolution No. 18/2018, applied to Brazilian imports of unwrought metallic magnesium, containing at least 99.8% by weight, of magnesium, commonly classified under subitem 8104.11.00 of the MERCOSUR Common Nomenclature (NCM), originating in Russia.
Unwrought magnesium can be presented in the form of ingots, billets, slabs, or cubes, to be further processed by rolling, drawing, wire drawing, extrusion, forging, and remelting, among other procedures.
The petition was filed by Rima Industrial S.A.
The analysis of the probability of continuation or resumption of dumping considered the period from October 2021 to September 2022. The analysis of the probability of continuation or resumption of injury considered the period from October 2017 to September 2022.

The public interest procedure will be optional, upon request submitted based on a completed Public Interest Questionnaire or ex officio at DECOM's discretion. The public interest will exist when the impact of the imposition of the anti-dumping measure on economic agents as a whole proves to be potentially more harmful, if compared to the positive effects of the application of the trade defense measure.
Interested parties may cooperate with the investigation by providing data for the completion of the Exporter, Importer, or other National Producer Questionnaires to defend their interests, and to benefit from any individual anti-dumping margin, which is generally lower than the margin calculated based on the information available.
