On May 22, 2019, a public consultation was made available on the proposals of the Legal Framework of Startups and Innovative Entrepreneurship, an initiative that aims to strengthen the Brazilian entrepreneurial environment, by granting benefits and adjusting the legal framework to these innovative companies.

The proposals are the result of a work that has been carried out since mid-2018 by the Subcommittee on Normative Environment of Startups of the Inter-ministerial Committee for Digital Transformation (CITDigital). Formed by a joint initiative of the Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovation and Communications (MCTIC) and the Ministry of Economy (ME) with the participation of organized civil society and other public institutions, the group promoted a series of working meetings arranged in four groups: business environment, facilitation of investment in startups, labor relations and public procurement. About 50 private institutions and more than 20 public institutions participated in the discussions.

The consolidation of the proposals, which in the future may be converted into bills and regulations, is available for public consultation until June 23, 2019 at www.startuppoint.gov.br.
