Professional experience

Head of the Life Sciences and Healthcare practice group, Elysangela has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions and contractual and regulatory matters in the sector. In the Corporate area, she assists domestic and foreign companies in establishing operations, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and corporate reorganizations. She also has significant expertise negotiating and drafting commercial contracts such as those concerning distribution, procurement sales representation, supply, and service agreements, among others.In the Life Sciences and Healthcare area, Elysangela’s practice encompasses a wide range of matters involving companies in the pharmaceutical, health products, cosmetics, food, veterinary products and biotechnology sectors. In addition to mergers and acquisitions and restructuring projects, she has advised clients on obtaining licenses, operating permits and product registrations before the health authorities (Anvisa - National Agency for Sanitary Surveillance and Mapa - Ministry of Agriculture), as well as on issues relating to marketing and advertising, transfer of product registrations, regulatory compliance, product recall, distribution relations, import and export, and the incorporation of technology in SUS (Unified Health System), among other areas.She has been working on matters involving the opening of the Brazilian healthcare market to foreign investment, representing clients within the M&A and regulatory fields and structuring transactions regarding for-profit and not-for-profit private hospitals.Elysangela also handles clinical trial-related issues, particularly drafting and reviewing research protocols, investigation and confidentiality agreements, and informed consent forms, having assisted clients implement various multicenter projects involving clinical research in Brazil or the use of Brazilian patients’ data.
