Professional experience

Head of Life Sciences and Healthcare practice group, Elysangela has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions and contractual and regulatory matters in the sector. In the corporate area, she assists domestic and foreign companies in establishing operations, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and corporate reorganizations. She also has significant experience negotiating and drafting commercial contracts such as those concerning distribution, procurement sales representation, supply, and service agreements, among other issues. In the Life Sciences & Healthcare area, Elysangela has been working on a wide variety of matters involving companies in the pharmaceutical, health products, cosmetics, food, veterinary products and biotechnology sectors. In addition to mergers and acquisitions and restructuring projects, she has assisted clients in obtaining licenses, operating permits and product registrations before the health authorities (ANVISA - National Agency for Sanitary Surveillance and MAPA - Ministry of Agriculture), as well as on issues relating to marketing and advertising, transfer of product registrations, regulatory compliance, product recall, distribution relations, import and export, and the incorporation of technology in SUS - Unified Health System, among other areas. She has been working in matters involving the opening of the Brazilian healthcare market to foreign investment, advising clients in M&A and regulatory matters and structuring transactions involving for-profit and not-for-profit private hospitals. She also works on matters involving clinical trial agreements, particularly in the preparation and review of research protocols, investigational agreements, and confidentiality and informed consent forms, having assisted clients implement various multicenter projects involving clinical research in Brazil or that involve the use of data from Brazilian patients.
